We were proud to have four authors from our class share their published work this week. The titles of the stories were: The Great Puffle Rescue, The Story of Maggie, My Dream in the Jungle, and Friendship Kingdom. The second graders are working hard each day writing, revising and creating their stories and illustrations. It is always very exciting to share their work. Well done!

The titles of the stories were-- The Serious Soldier, My Treehouse, and The Story of Anthony. They did an awesome job of writing and illustrating their stories!

We had the pleasure of listening to four more friends during Author's Chair on Friday. The authors and illustrators were eager to sit in the Big Rocking chair and share their work. Our class loves this activity and enjoys hearing the variety of stories that each student creates. The titles shared this week were: The Awesome Christmas, The Fairies of Love, The Story of Furry Fingers and The Book about Cats. Way to Go!!

Author's Chair
The Authors and titles of books: The Time Machine, Order of Puffle Group, and The Fairies and the Girl.
In Writer's Workshop, students have been working hard on developing stories. The ideas for writing are the students' own creative ideas and they are very excited about expressing their thoughts through a story, poem or even songs. The process involves pre-writing, rough drafts, revising, editing with the teacher and finally--a published piece of work! Today, we had our first "Author's Chair." This is when a student (the author) gets to share his or her published work with our class. The author sits in our BIG chair and is proud to be picked for this special event! Congratulations!!
