American Indian Exhibit

Our field trip to the Nelson-Atkins American Indian Exhibit was fantastic. The day was beautiful- not too hot, and not too cold. After walking to the museum, we had a picnic on the lawn.

After picnic activities included some "wax museum", "doctor doctor", soccer, and relays down the terraces.

Thanks to all of the wonderful parent support, the information treasure hunt was fabulous. You can see in all of the pictures, the students were really involved in discovery.

A BIG "thanks" to all that made this such a wonderful experience!

Tell me about 2nd Grade!

The first graders were excited, anixous, curious and thrilled to spend some time in our second grade classrooms on Thursday morning. We enjoyed telling first grade all about our classroom, themes, schedules and projects we have been busy with all year. It was a wonderful way to ease the transition into a new grade as we near the end of this terrific school year!

A Celebration of the Continents!

Our second graders did a wonderful job on Thursday as they performed in their last primary music program titled " Hello to all the Children of the World!" It was an entertaining program and the second graders enjoyed sharing their musical talents with the audience. We thank Mrs. Haskamp for being such a great music teacher and guiding the children with such patience and love. We wish her the best as she gets ready for the journey to motherhood!

Our Visit to the Rainforest

The second graders had a wonderful time visiting the 3rd Grade Rainforest at St. Paul's with their parents. The students received a tour guide (3rd grader) who gave fabulous facts on each and every animal, showed samples of their research work and also guided them around the rain forest! It was a fantastic opportunity to get close up with the Rainforest animals. Our classes are excited to be a part of the Rainforest fun next year!!

Oh, the Places You'll Go!

Today, we celebrated the birthday of Dr. Suess. Many children ( and adults) love the humorous and wonderfully stated books by this beloved author. We celebrated by discussing the students favorite places, famous people they would like to meet, and adventures they may take in life--as I shared my favorite Dr. Suess book with the children, Oh, the Places You'll Go!
