January 9-13

Welcome back to Second grade! We are excited to start 2012 with our snow unit and as we were turning our classroom into a "Winter Wonderland" we had our first outside snow fall!

We started the week learning about Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley, the first man to photograph snowflakes and discover that no two are exactly alike! We visited his website and made snowflakes out of coffee filters to decorate our classroom.
On Thursday, we got to see a special performance by Alivn Ailey, the American Dance Theater. They did special routines for us and even let us do some dancing!

We had a great time and it was a nice change to our normal routine.

We had A LOT of fun with the iPads this week. We got to use them during math time and do small group and whole group activities. We got to play Math game Apps and we visited a math website. We are looking forward to bring them out more and more!
