Here's what we've been up to this week!
Daily 5
Students worked hard to publish their whale report during work on writing. We have been meeting in groups and continuing each of the Daily 5 sessions.
Math
We are continuing our study of place value and working our way towards place value to the 1,000's.
Science
Students performed an experiment to learn about the importance of whale blubber.
Social Studies
Students began constructing their land form projects to show what we have learned about land forms! We can't wait for you to see the finished product.
Whales
We had a wonderful week celebrating the end of our whale unit. Students enjoyed whale cookies, a trip to the aquarium, and can't wait to start sharing their projects! We have rooms filled with amazing whales!

REMINDERS
-No school on Monday 10/12 or Tuesday 10/13
-Buddy run is Friday 10/16
-2nd grade will take a field trip to Bishop Spencer Place to sing Halloween songs and trick-or-treat with the community members there. The trip will take place on Tuesday 10/27. More details to follow.
-Halloween parties on Wednesday 10/28
-Parent/teacher conferences on Thursday 10/29 and Friday 10/30
